This page explains what personal data rabarbastudios.com collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, for visitors from the EU and UK, the GDPR.
Who we are
Rabarba Studios is a music and sound studio based in Istanbul, Turkey, and a brand of Lal Halkla İlişkiler Danışmanlık Ltd. Şti., which is the data controller for this site.

What we collect
When you fill in the contact form: your name, email address and, if you add them, your studio or company name, project type, timeline, a link and your message.
When you email us directly: your email address and whatever you choose to write.
When you browse the site: your browser remembers a few small settings on your own device (your language, light or dark mode, whether motion and sounds are on) using local storage. These never leave your browser and we cannot see them. Our hosting provider also creates an anonymous visitor token so the site can load its content, and keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
To understand how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not track individual visitors; it only gives us aggregate numbers such as page views, countries and referring sites.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.
Why we use it
- To reply to your message and talk about your project
- To prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to carry out the project
- To keep the site secure and working
Our legal grounds are taking steps to enter into a contract at your request and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and running the site (KVKK Article 5(2)(c) and (f); GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Who else sees it
The site and its contact form run on Wix.com, which stores the data on its servers outside Turkey (for example in the US and the EU). Visit statistics are processed by Cloudflare. Emails reach us through Google's Gmail. We share your data with no one else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as we are talking about a project, and for up to two years after our last contact so we can follow up on the same conversation. Information about projects we carry out is kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require. After that we delete it.
Your rights
Under KVKK Article 11 and the GDPR you can ask us whether we hold data about you, get a copy, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, and learn who we have shared it with. Just email rabarbastudios@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to Turkey's Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or, in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
